Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Mindful of its impact on the environment, Picardie Foundry has commissioned its first green house gas balance sheet in 2011, based on activity data for the year 2010.
A new green house gas balance sheet was achieved based on activity data for the year 2014.
Summary of results
In 2014, green house gas emissions of Picardie foundry are estimated at 43 298 tonnes of CO₂
The main sources of emissions are :
- Fixed Energy sources : this source is related to the consumption of fossil fuels such as coke, natural gas and fuel oil in melting facilities and generators.
- Electricity : this source is related to the power consumption of the site, particularly for the supply of equipment and machinery used in the manufacturing process.
- Industrial Processes : this source is related to the consumption of products used in the manufacturing process.
Picardie Foundry has identified potential possible actions that could contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
|Positions targeted||Proposed actions||Ease of implementation|
|Fixed Energy sources||Reducing consumption of natural gas||Average|
|Electricity||Reducing consumption on lighting post||Average|
|Optimizing the operation of production equipment||Easy|
|Energy in its entirety||Formalization of good practices and awareness of staff||Easy|
